“It’s true to say, you can’t please all of the people, all of the time. We know that, and yet we still manage to be many things to many people. This is a versatile business, with a lot going on in a little place!” Henry Stretton, Dove Farm.
We are Dove Farm, on the borders of Derbyshire and Staffordshire. Thanks for stopping by our farm blog. There’s usually somebody about, for a cup of tea and a chat. We hardly need an excuse to put the kettle on, and with any luck, there’s home-made cake in the tin.

First and foremost, Dove Farm is home to the Stretton family and a whole lot of animals besides!
We are proud that it is still a working farm, with a mixed range of small enterprises;
from cattle and sheep, to cereals, to agri-machinery sales.
We have three self-catering holiday cottages and a business room, so you can book an event here, a weekend break with friends, or a family holiday.
Now you’ve met us, why not come and stay, and see for yourself what life is like at Dove Farm?
We don’t promise ‘fairytale farm’ , because real farms and real lives aren’t like that, are they? - Dove Farm is a family home like anybody else’s. It happens to be in the countryside, with some rather lovely holiday cottages, and a large and friendly family of farm animals - what’s more, we are lucky enough to work here too.
It’s a beautiful place to us – and we love to share it. If it’s rainy and muddy, on occasions, well – that’s all part of farm life. You might have to watch out for cow pats, when you walk across the fields, on our farm trail, but that’s not a problem. We have lots of pairs of welly boots, in assorted sizes, for our guests to borrow.
